Reading notes
- Fragments of Books Three and Four §55 house of Hades
Ἀῖδα δόμοις, the house of the lord of the dead — not a place of punishment but of dimness, where the shades are ἀμαύρων, 'dim, obscure.' The unremembered woman will not even be visible there: ἀφάνης, unseen.
